Have you ever seen a bird logo that combines the fierce power of an eagle with the graceful beauty of a peacock?
This project is exactly that.
Today, I’m excited to share one of my favorite logo design projects — a visual identity for Orisol, a dance duo where modern choreography meets traditional Eastern influence. This logo is a fusion of opposites: masculine and feminine, simplicity and symbolism, tradition and modernity.
Client Brief – A Custom Logo Design for a Dance Duo
Orisol is a dance group formed by two performers: Orine and Solan. The name “Orisol” is a blend of their stage names.
The client requested a logo that:
- Incorporates the initial letters O and S
- Represents both masculine and feminine energy
- Reflects an Eastern-inspired aesthetic
- Feels simple, modern, and memorable
Design Thinking – Turning Logo Ideas Into Symbolism
When I received the brief, I knew this was more than just a typographic logo — it needed to reflect harmony between two distinct personalities.
To capture that essence, I turned to the Yin-Yang symbol — a core element of Eastern philosophy that represents the balance of opposing forces. It became the conceptual foundation of the logo.
Building on that, I proposed combining:
- An eagle – symbolizing strength, focus, and masculinity
- A peacock – representing elegance, beauty, and femininity
Together, they form a visual harmony, just like Orine and Solan do in their performances. Their movements on stage are contrasting yet complementary — a perfect metaphor for this pairing.
The Result – Balanced Logo Design with Golden Ratio Circles
After several discussions and refinements, the client fully embraced the concept. The final logo captures both fluidity and strength, blending Eastern inspiration with minimalist lines. The letters O and S are interwoven in a way that feels intentional and timeless.
To ensure visual balance and harmony, I constructed the logo using golden ratio circles. This mathematical approach provided a natural structure to the layout, giving the design a refined and aesthetically pleasing look.
This was one of the most inspiring projects I’ve worked on — it challenged me to blend cultural symbolism with modern design in a way that tells a story.
If you’re looking for a visual identity that truly represents who you are and what your brand stands for, I’d love to help bring your vision to life.
